Thought piece Thursday #39 - When nothing is working, do the work for it to work (Tim Ferriss special) + Talk about them (check out a great blogger)

First of all appreciate you checking in for this special edition of Thought Piece Thursday. It's special in that there'll be a podcast linked from Tim "the man" Ferriss. Now who doesn't love a great podcast ;)! If you don't know what they are check out this one, where Tim hits up Shay Carl in a long-form interview about a variety of topics.

We'll have a special guest, who's making waves in the personal finance blogging world too.

First of all let's get into what you've been waiting to, the topic about work!

Inspired by an interview we heard recently between Tim and Shay Carl where Shay spoke about "when nothing is working, do the work for it to work". This may not necessary sound like a lot of fun however hear us out ;).

Why working works to get the work done!

It works simply because of the persistence, imagine if there's 100,000 people who are blogging away at the start of 2017 and by March 2nd, there's 60,000 left from that original group due to people giving up. Say by 2nd August there's now only 35,000 left and at the end of the year there's 15,000 left going strong. What this means is that your competition, irrespective of how saturated your market is will have natural attrition. Sure we acknowledge that there will be more people pop up however they're unlikely to have the clout and reputation you have straight away, which gives you an advantage. Another benefit from continuing to work to make it work is your audience over time will then tell you what they want to see, hear or read. From this you can then learn, grow and develop. This can apply to your career, business, fitness or even relationships.

Moral of the story is keep up the work and understand the signs when they inevitably show you the path you should take.

When nothing is working imagine how this beautiful scene was created, it simply kept on flowing (working)

What we're continuing to do here at Money Glee is to continue acknowledging people in the personal finance (PF) & occasionally the broader blogging community, who are doing awesome & cool work!

We want to keep paying it forward & giving more back, so every second Thursday of the month there'll be a talk about them post. Check out November's post here if you're interested in taking a look at Josh from White Collar Freedom and Pat from Smart Passive Income.

We're going to cut out 1 blogger and get more focused on 1 person to do them justice so here goes an updated version of talk about them! :)

While he (or they) are anonymous the person over at Mustard Seed Money (or MSM as we like to know them) has made their mark on the personal finance space. While the blog has been up for a few months this year, the following this person has is amazing! It's no surprise though as they're funny, very giving of their time and genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about personal finance. Head over and check them out and we're honoured to mention them here

We'd love to hear about new or up and coming bloggers you've heard about?

What have you found works for you when nothing is working?

How do you continue to get excited?

Thanks for reading and remember to live your Money Glee!
